The GEL-KAYANO 5 OG RETRO TOKYO running shoe pays homage to the upcoming celebration in Tokyo, while commemorating the spirit of the ASICS heritage and our Japanese roots. Formed with a mesh and suede construction, this shoe introduced two crucial improvements to the shoe's lineage - the teardrop tongue and Quadra lacing system. Working in unison with each other, these technologies create an improved fit with better midfoot support. This shoe is injected with an enlarged GEL technology based cushioning pocket in the heel for pronounced comfort, while the layered application of componentry has become the foundation that still influences the shoe's design today.
